I don't know much about link aggregation, but i'm guessing that it is set up wrong. I probably set it up wrong because it seems like everything is slower than it was with 1 cable. I KNOW that having 2 nics in LACP doesn't give me a 2 Gb/s line, but isn't it supposed to give me 2 1Gb/s lines?
What i expected was something like this: host 1 connects to server, link aggregation gives it port 1, host 2 connects to server, link aggregation gives it port 2 What i'm seeing is more like: host one connects to server, activity goes back and forth like... 1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2,1,2 Which actually seems to slow down a lot of hosts (I'm not exactly sure why this should be) Someone on this list warned me that LACP was probably a bad idea....and they may have been right but before i totally give up i'd like to make sure i didn't screw up on how i set it up. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
