Hi, I am also new to opensolaris, and am having issues (different ones) with CIFS...what i have done is setup samba so that at least i can access the files while I work out how to configure CIFS.
The good thing about samba is that it will allow guest (annon) access, so no need to login with a user/password each time....which I need as my media box does not cater for a user/password. Hopefully that will get you by until someone comes up with a solution to your issue. -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
