But the system was working for quite some time without an xorg.conf file, so the Xorg autodetected defaults seem to be ok. I don't think an xorg.conf is needed... Now that you are on a console text login: are there any failed system services? Check with "svcs -x". This should report no failed services. Did you check the /var/log/Xorg.0* X server log files? Does the X server log any errors to these log files at system startup? The /var/log/gdm/ directory contains more log files, maybe gdm did log some X server startup errors? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
