the GUI has returned again !! i'll tell what happened i checked the log files as u told me... it seemed normal except for 2 errors
(EE) Unable to locate/open config file (EE) intel(0): underrun on pipe B! and some warnings.. which i didn't quite understand but they seemed not serious.. then i checked the system services with svcs -x, it reported 3 services : the 1st one about removable media handling not initialized the 2nd one svc:/milestone/network:default disabled by administrator the 3rd one svc:/network/physical:nwam disabled by administrator which reminded me that i really did disable nwam service because i was annoyed by its non-stopping notifications while i was working offline: # svcadm disable nwam but i didnot type : # svcadm enable network/physical:default after it.. so in the same moment i re-enabled nwam, the GUI login appeared again..! is that what caused the problem??... why?? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
