Hi there, You don't format exact with the same cylinder. If the model/maker is diffent the disk size will differ both in size and cylinders, though the overall will be more or less the same.
But if you using ZFS why are you worried about cylinders? If the size is equal or bigger it really doesn't matter to ZFS. That procedure was often used with SVM which was partition based. HTH Ether -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
