Hi,

you could always add another grub boot instance with the 'text mode 
only' option.....

check /rpool/

I can't remember the name of the dir exactly now as I'm not in Solaris 
but should be something like /rpool/ROOT/boot/grub/menu.lst

add another instance of your current BE and disable any graphical 
parameters that might be lurking around like splash image etc....

That's the only way that I know of anyhow. Linux is a lot easier and I 
wish that OpenSol becomes like that one day but for now we make do with 
what we've got unless anyone more qualified knows otherwise :-)
