hi folks.

I've been trying to get B26 installed on my laptop, and has yet to complete the
task. After experiencing several failed installations I added
acpi-user-options=2 to the kernel statement in grub, and then it continued
through system identification, partitioning the disk and installing CD1. When
that was done, it started the shutdown sequence and after printing rebooting
system... on the screen it stayed there. I ejected the CD and killed the
power. When turning the system on again, I get the expected Grub-splash
screen, selects to boot solaris and then it boot until :

Creating new rsa public/private host key pair

And there it stays indefinitely. It stays there for a while and responds to me
pressing enter, and then freezes. I powercycle the laptop again, and upon boot
it output the following to the screen :

WARNING - the following files in / differ from the boot archive :

        /etc/path_to_inst

The recommended action is to reboot and select "Solaris Failsafe"
option from the bootmenu. Then follow the prompts to update the
    boot archive.
To continue at your own risk, clear the service:
       #svcadm clear system/boot-archive

    svc.startd[7]: svc:/system/boot.archive:default: Method
"/lib/svc/method/boot-archive" failed with exit status 95

after running svcadm clear system/boot-archive it boots until

Creating new rsa public/private host key pair

and hangs again. The last lines printed after booting with -v is :

    audio8100 is /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/pci103c,[EMAIL PROTECTED],2
    PCI-device: pci8086,[EMAIL PROTECTED],1, pci_pci2
    pci_pci2 is /[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/pci8086,[EMAIL PROTECTED],1
    pseudo-device: devinfo0
    devinfo0 is /pseudo/[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Creating new rsa public/private host key pair

I've tried to boot with acpi-user-options set to 2,6 and 8 with no difference
what so ever.

I have linux on this laptop already and I had a problem with overheating during
install until I made sure that the linuxmodules thermal and cpu was inserted
into the kernel before starting the install. Is there any solaris equvalents
that I can force the system to use just to make sure that the hangs isn't
caused by overheating ?

Any pointer is most welcome !

regs,
