First, BootMagic is only complicating things. It isn't necessary. GRUB is perfectly capable of loading XP.
Second, if you can install to the ATA drive, it should be fairly easy to copy your installation to the SATA drive, but ask at SuSE forums- http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/ instead of here.
