Answering my own post: It seems to be fixed.
Just out of a hunch I reflashed the BIOS with the latest version from Dell's website and retried the install.This fixed the keyboard lockout problem that I had. The notes from the new BIOS installation mention something about changing ACPI support to not report non-existant PS2 devices. Maybe that had something to do with it, but I'm not sure. The new BIOS version is A09. Just as an FYI: This is a Dell Precision 330 manufactured in June 2001.If anybody experiences the same problem you might want to give this a try. Fred S.
