Or perhaps not posted to a place that maximizes your chances of getting a response from someone familiar with what your using. :-) By that I mean you'll probably have better luck asking this question on the Nexenta forums/mailing lists. http://www.gnusolaris.org/gswiki/Community This list is for discussing difficulties in getting, building and installing OpenSolaris. Which isn't the same thing as distributions derived from OpenSolaris like Nexenta. Though I'm sure there are people on this list that run Nexenta, this isn't the first place I would turn looking for help about Nexenta (or any of the other OpenSolaris derived distributions). > How much of an overlap is there in Nexenta between Solaris 10 and > Debian (2.4 kernel) control of peripherals? I'm not familiar with Nexenta's inner-workings (hence my suggestion to try their forums) but I'd be very surprised if there were any similarities in device handling between Nexenta which is based on the OpenSolaris kernel and the linux kernel. The kernels are radically different. Instructions that apply to the linux kernel almost certainly don't apply to an OpenSolaris derived kernel.
