I am still a believer that anything that runs flawlessly on Solaris 8 will
run flawlessly on Solaris 9 and 10 and Nevada. Drivers and hardware
interface bits and kernel modules don't count. Just userland stuff.

I think that SeaMonkey is a far better way to go than Firefox. Just drag in
the SeaMonkey from Blastwave and then you will be happy. Yes you need to
then install Adobe Acrobat and other crud also but thats life. Even in
Linux land you need to go through that pain.

That is GNOME 2.16.1 running on old old Sun Ultra 2 hardware and Solaris 8
wit hSeaMonkey and me ownloading Acrobat. When all is said and done you can
not get around the Adobe Acrobat issues with x86 but at least we have it on
Sparc.

So stop banging your head against a wall and just

   pkg-get -i seamonkey

Then carry on with whatever else you want to do.

end of ramble ...
