Thank you. It is OpenSolaris 10. The update manager came on after the installation, updated a few files, then downloaded updates which were specified to be installed manually. I have 31 jar files in the /var/sadm/spool directory as a result.
It seems if the product cannot be updated, why doesn't it so specify in the OpenSolaris package somewhere - or on the d/l page. No where in my 3-day search did it say that it wasn't updatable. It's now running and I am so far please with it's performance except for a few issues that seem to circling around the forums. I appreciate your dircet response, Ian.
