i went with the reduced networking software cluster cause the other options wanted a ridiculous amount of disk space. So, installing the entire distribution isn't going to happen.
I'm starting to think this is a bug in the installer. Consider this: $ smbclient -L 10.0.0.3 ld.so.1: smbclient: fatal: libpopt.so.0: open failed: No such file or directory Killed $ why would someone install smbclient without installing libpopt.so.0? likewise, crt1.o is part of gcc. I think its needed to compile anything, so adding gcc to my system but not crt1.o is probably a bug. i'll trying installing gcc from sunfreeware.com, that should fix the crt1.o problem at least.
