Hey,

I had this same problem; It due to the Solaris and BSD, GRUB can no longer boot
the release version of Windows Vista, Unless a Unique Identifier (UUID) is
keepted in the MBR.

The problem is that the Solaris and BSD version of GRUB install does not keep
the UUID however the Linux version of grub install does.

I feel this should be patch'ed ASAP as its a known issuse.

* I put some info about it some time ago on the net at :
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EdwardOcallaghan/WindowsVista

I don't know how to recover the MBR with the UUID, if someone knows please post
as I could add that to my info page ;~)

I hope this helps, sorry for the bad spelling.
Regards,
Edward O'Callaghan.
