thank you for that link. But there are not too many details available,
it seems...  And I don't see anything about that sata controller in my
dmesg

But I am wondering what the chances are, that it changes from the
detection, when there is a drive attached. On the other hand I am not
willing to spend money on a new harddisk when I might have to buy an
expensive sata controller later, too.
