Let's start by figuring out whether this is a NIC configuration or driver problem or you're having DHCP and/or DNS problems. 1. Does ifconfig -a show your network interface? 2. If so, does netstat -rn show a default route (I'm assuming you should have one) and is it correct? 3. Are you using static configuration or DHCP? 4.
