Take a look at man page of lucreate and luupgrade, here are some tips:
1. set up the s3 partition in format command to be the same size as s0 or 
bigger I use 8g , the snv and 10ux has been getting bigger over time, just like 
all OS;s has.

2. you can mount the iso or mount the dvd in the dvdrom
+ ./mountdvd.sh sol-nv-b77-x86-dvd.iso
+ lofiadm -a /zones/sol-nv-b77-x86-dvd.iso
+ mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/lofi/1 /export/install/dvd
+ + echo ./lucreate.sh 10-u4-ga c0d0s0 nv-b77 c0d0s3
2. run the lucreate:
 + lucreate -C /dev/dsk/c0d0s0 -m /:/dev/dsk/c0d0s3:ufs -n altroot_nv-b77_c0d0s3
3. the the luupgrade command
 + luupgrade -u -n altroot_nv-b77_c0d0s3 -s /export/install/dvd
4. then the luactivate
+ luactivate altroot_nv-b77_c0d0s3
5. check lustatus command
# lustatus
