(I searched through the site, but didn't find anything really relevant). I have an OpenSolaris SXDE installed on my hard drive, in partition /dev/hda3. The partition size is 20 GB; I selected that for a trial of SXDE. Since I like it very much, I want to get the same install in a larger partition. I have no clue how to do that in Solaris, due to the slices. In Linux, I'd 'dump' all partitions, and 'restore' them in previously created larger partitions, updated /etc/fstab, booted to a live CD and 'setup' grub. Since I am relatively new to Solaris, I would not know how to create the (new) slices in another partition (that can be created in Linux, I guess), how to 'restore' the partitions (since Solaris can only 'see' one partition). Then I wouldn't know how to install the bootblock in/of Solaris. I do know how to chainload to the latter later, from Linux, though.
If any such description exists, could someone please point me into the proper direction ? Thanks, Uwe This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list [email protected]
