Hi Michael,
SNV 70 just means build number 70 of OpenSolaris. For example, I am running
SXCE 80, and on my PC I see the following:
bash-3.2$ *uname -a*
SunOS solwarg 5.11 snv_80 i86pc i386 i86pc
bash-3.2$ *cat /etc/release*
Solaris Express Community Edition snv_80 X86

There is a new build approximately every 2 weeks. Download the latest build
of SXCE or SXDE from opensolaris.org, and you should be good.
I also have been having problems with the WPI driver's WPA support.
Apparently it has been fixed since build 78, but it would appear that there
is a problem with my specific wireless access point.
Cheers,
_Johan
