I am not helpful at this moment I am afraid. But I can add that we saw this
same
behaviour with a three year old Dell Inspiron Laptop at the SWOSUG meeting
last night.
The Dell box listed the CD as C5d0p0 and the IDE drive as C4d0p0
However when we loaded SNV B83 on it the CD was C0d0p0 and the disk
C1d0p0
So Opensoalris have adifferent way of enumerating drives. Maybe its USB
devices
the some how gets enumerated first in OpenSoalris and the CAIMAN installer
gets stuck
trying to boot from empty USB units.
