I was hoping to hear of other folks having problems with this specific piece of 
equipment, but apparently I have something that is not common place in the 
OpenSolaris world.  I will see if the next release of OpenSolaris works better 
and try again.  If someone needs more information specifically from this 
hardware, I will try my best to get the information out into the community.
