Hi, I'm having a bit of a problem following exactly what your
situation is. It sounds like you need the Sun compilers instead of the
gcc compiler. Based on the fact that you downloaded an IDE, it appears
that you are also looking for that. To get both, download SunStudio at
the link below:
http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/index.jsp
An even easier way to get things setup if the packaging system is
working on your VM is to run the package manager and do a search for
ss-dev. Install that and it'll pull the entire Sun cluster down for you.
