Hi, Can someone please tell me clearly how to access single user mode. I need to update my 132 build to 133 and only have 1 GB on my x64 notebook. This was not quite enough memory to complete the new update.
If the system is up and running than you can use the "init" option to put it into single user mode.
pfexec init s
I know that you have to hit e in the boot menu and append -s to the selection but I just want to be sure which entry do I choose to edit from the menu. Sorry if this seems a bit basic to many but I am still learning as we go. Thanks!
Use bootadm and on my machine the "default" line shows I am using the second option.
pfexec bootadm list-menu the location for the active GRUB menu is: /rpool/boot/grub/menu.lst default 1 timeout 10 0 opensolaris-sru7 1 opensolaris-sru8 2 opensolaris-sru8-ABE _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
