Hi,

I thought I could OpenSolaris a try and downloaded 2009.06 first and then
snv_134.

The problem with 2009.06 seems to be the NVIDIA driver causing the system to
lock up. Booting with -v shows these last messages:

opensolaris console login:

And when the login is shown, I can't do anything but reboot. Booting into
text-mode works though.
Having in mind that the drivers in snv_134 should be newer, I downloaded the
ISO and booted the CD. Unfortunately, it hangs right after activation of the
CPUs:

I think the next thing which is supposed to show up is USB. Maybe the problem
lies there? Installing in VirtualBox works for both versions so I assume the
media are not to blame.

HW spec is:

Intel S5520SC Workstation Board (not on the HCL though)
2x Intel Xeon E5504, 2GHz
12 GB memory
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512MB (G92) (also not on the HCL...?)
3x Intel Postville X25-M 80GB

Feel free to ask if you need additional information.

Thomas
