Well, I'd also go with a mirrored boot, for example. If something like booting 
from a minimal boot UFS was possible before b62, how was that done?

I know, I'm using FreeBSD 8.0-STABLE right now. Unfortunately, it's a bit 
unstable on my machine, especially Flash is an issue. And the integration of 
ZFS, Java, Flash and xVM is indeed very appealing...
