Hi all, I'm very new to OpenSolaris, but I've managed to get SMB, raidz, and a few other things up and running without any issues. What I'm having problems with is getting VNC to run. My basic requirements are to have my OpenSolaris box connectable via VNC so that I can log in and use it without having a monitor connected. Using the Desktop Sharing feature under System/Preferences I can connect fine, but this does not allow me to log into the system/reboot etc remotely.
I have followed the instructions here http://blogs.sun.com/timthomas/en_GB/entry/a_simple_vnc_server_and#comments after finding just enabling the service didn't seem to work, but either way when I connect I get the screen in the attached picture, ie: grey screen with the cursor with an X. I believe that the desktop GUI isn't loading, unfortunately I have no idea how to fix this. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Kind regards, Luke -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
