Following up on my own post here.. I have ordered the hardware outlined in the first post. I went with the quad-core ... I guess I love power.
I did find one problem with the motherboard.. Even though it was listed as having 8 SATA ports, it in fact only has 6 normal SATA ports and 2 ports that must be used in either RAID 0, RAID 1, Single Drive, or JBOD concatenated.. Neither of which is a good solution for me.
