A little update on this issue: After spending 10 mins. for each of the 14 drives, all drives are finally accessible. I was even able to import my zpool that resides on that storage and read/write tests on that pool showed no issues.
Alas, having to wait 140 mins. after reboot for the system to come (partially) up, doesn't sound too good, I guess. Partially, since the GUI won't start up, which I thin is due to the problem with the HAL deamon. I checked dmesg once more and found some IRQ issues. Maybe these could be teh source of this behaviour? Jun 30 11:13:55 opensolaris-test unix: [ID 954099 kern.info] NOTICE: IRQ20 is being shared by drivers with different interrupt levels.
