I'm having some difficulties installing b134 on a SunBlade 1000 (SPARC) for a
project at home. It has a XVR-1200 frame buffer which isn't natively supported
by opensolaris (or the standard installer) so I've gone for the
"textinstall-134-sparc.iso" from genunix.

Using the attached keyboard, mouse and monitor as a terminal, it seems to
install OK in that it goes through the menus for nominating time zone, accounts
passwords etc then starts installing but hangs at 99% (ie I left it overnight
for about 8 hours). The f9-cancel is still active and I can cancel the install
which leaves it "as -is".

The machine boots into the installed OS on the disk which seems to be a copy of
the install ISO in that it comes up with the install/shell/terminal/reboot
options. It clearly hasn't finished the install and when I go into shell it's a
bit weird in that the prompt alternates between # and login as if there's two
sessions occupying the terminal. There's also various errors (exact format
eludes me right now) to do with unsupported frame buffer but I expected that.

Is there anything I'm missing here. Does the install work on the console or do
I have to connect a terminal to the serial port for this to work properly?

Thanks in advance.

Peter
