I'm interested in building a small system that will have only one purpose: to play looping videos in an educational setting (sort of like in a museum). Assuming I don't have hardware issues, (I know that can be a major hurdle) I'm wondering about using OpenSolaris for this. This will be on a protected internal network, with no Internet access. No local input device - mouse/keyboard. So what I'd like it to do is:
1. Boot up 2. Automatically log in 3. Launch vlc or whatever app is being used, in full screen mode and play a specified video 4. Loop that content continuously until interrupted by the administrator who would control the system via ssh from another machine on the network 5. If power drops or for any other reason it goes down, reboot and start over without intervention Does this seem feasible? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ opensolaris-help mailing list opensolaris-help@opensolaris.org
