Hi,

I recently added 3 new drives to an existing and working setup.

The issue is the new drive names do not have their base names available (i.e.
only have the ..p* and ..s* versions)

format shows the correct names as shown here:

zap...@thebook:~$ pfexec format
Searching for disks...done
AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:
       1. c11t0d0 <DEFAULT cyl 9726 alt 2 hd 255 sec 63> ** existing
       2. c11t1d0 <ATA-WDC WD20EARS-00S-0A80-1.82TB> ** existing
       3. c11t2d0 <DEFAULT cyl 60798 alt 2 hd 255 sec 252> ** new same
version as c11t1d0
       4. c11t3d0 <DEFAULT cyl 60798 alt 2 hd 255 sec 252> ** new same
version as c11t1d0
       5. c11t4d0 <DEFAULT cyl 60798 alt 2 hd 255 sec 252> ** new same
version as c11t1d0

The issue is the following do not exist in /dev/dsk or /dev/rdsk
"/dev/dsk/c11t2d0"
"/dev/dsk/c11t3d0"
"/dev/dsk/c11t4d0"

Which forces me to use "c11t2d0p0" or "c11t2d0s2" when creating a new pool. Is
there a problem with using either of these names for zfs, instead of "c11t2d0".

What I do not understand is "c11t1d0" exists in /dev/dsk and it is the exact
same drive version as "c11t[2-4]d0". So since they are the same versions, it is
not clear to me why the new drives are missing their base names.

Is there anything I should do, or commands I can run? These drives are on the
Supermicro AOC-USAS-L8i card, which many opensolaris users have running fine,
and has worked for me with no issues.

Thanks very much in advance for any guidance on this!!

Tom
