Hi, I am trying to upgrade my 2009.06 system to use raidz3. The issue is the production version of 2009.06 only has zfs version 14 which does not have raidz3 (needs version 17).
After searching for a while it seems the best options are to: 1) Upgrade to a development version of opensolaris such as 134 2) Covert to linux and use zfs-fuse 3) Upgrade to one of the forks of opensolaris such as illumos The issue I have is all of these options are "development" implenetations today. This may be just a home box, but when I switch to nine 2TB drives, I want the stability of a production environment because zfs is my main data repository and I only backup a key subset of files from that 10+TB server. Does anyone have ideas or recommendations on how to best install a production level environment with raidz3? Thanks!
