I'm just going to jump to assumptions and guess you have some unsupported
hardware there.  Here are a few suggestions:

* Try going into BIOS and disabling anything you don't need.  In particular,
a UART sounds like a serial port or modem, maybe sound card.
* If you're using opensolaris 2009.06, why don't you try a more recent
build, from genunix.org
* Even the latest on genunix is extremely old, since opensolaris is dead.
The new replacements are Solaris 11 Express, and OpenIndiana.  (Oracle made
it closed-source, to create Solaris 11, and openindiana is the open-source
community fork, independent of oracle.)  Sol11Exp is only legal to use for
development purposes (read the license agreement when you download) but it's
honor-system enforced, so ssssshhh.  Openindiana is still extremely new, and
as such, not extremely stable.  But it's improving, and might work for you.
