Hello I've installed the oss-solaris-v4.0-1006-i386.pkg on Solaris 10 6/06 these are what I got :
at reboot, I hear a weak continuous blowing sound from the speakers then I launched the osstest and it began testing each channel (left, right, stereo) and I could hear a nice music during the test. So I can say that the test succeeded. But .........when I tried to play an mp3 file (for example with jmplayer), the player works properly but I can't hear any sound. I launched the ossxmix and tried to modify all volume cursors (even the main volume control of Solaris), but I hear nothing. However in ossxmix, I can see the lights of the sound-strength-meter which are working properly. My audio device is a Realtek HD, but in oss its named Intel HD, are they equivalent? The audio driver is working well, but no sound is produced (and osstest is successful) What's wrong with all these? -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
