I am using SSLeay 0.6.6b targeting 8086 MS-DOS 5.0. The development platform
is TurboC running in Linux/DOSEMU. I would like to upgrade to the latest
OpenSSL but I thought that 16-bit support had already been dropped.

May I suggest that if/when a supported platform is dropped then the major
version number of the library should be incremented. That way those of us
still using the old platform can continue develop the library using the old
version number.

Has anybody intentionally removed 16-bit support from OpenSSL? When?
