I absolutely agree.

(BTW, the file name you suggest would imply the use of *roff format.
I'd like to suggest something a bit less Unix-centric be used, perhaps
a format that can be converted down to whatever platform-specific
format there is, like *roff, VMSy help files, ...
But, I may have misunderstood your intent as well...)
