Okay. I would be glad to help. The NetBSD people have already done some
work on getting OpenSSL to build shared libraries on NetBSD. Their
patches are available at:
ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD-current/pkgsrc/security/openssl/
These patches produce a makefile that dies before the shared libraries get
built on my system. Rather than debugging their patches, though, I would
much rather help get NetBSD shared library support into OpenSSL.
As far as not having a NetBSD machine to work on, the ISP (panix.com) that
I would for would be happy to give you a free shell account with which to
test openssl.
Either way, I would be perfectly happy to do a bunch of test builds.
1) I would be more than happy to send the ld man page to you. Should I
send it to the list, or just you?
2) cc is:
gcc version egcs-2.91.60 19981201 (egcs-1.1.1 release)
This is the default version of gcc for NetBSD 1.4.2
Can send the man page if you like.
3) Just let me know when.
Thanks for your help -- Felicia
