OK, I asked and the answer was non-trivial, but in essence the answer
was, yes, they'll upgrade to 0.9.6, but no, they won't definitely
support it forever - the issue being that having to maintain every
version of every package that may be used is not necessarily something
Apple want to get into. I can see that.
