Oh, so all those compilers work exactly the same way (including
functionality like "asm"), the corresponding C RTL has exactly the
same set of functions with exactly the same functionality and no bugs?
Come on, that was naive if anything.

Well, anyway, that point is moot since the VMS build is completely
separated from anything Perly...  I had some plans about that, but
with autoconf, that won't work at all...
