OK, just as long as it's known not to be in 0.9.6a. We have special
instructions for HP-UX in the meantime.

By the way, I just tested on an Intel system running Linux 2.2.17 SMP:

Operating system: i686-whatever-linux2
Configuring for linux-elf
Configuring for linux-elf
IsWindows=0
CC            =gcc
CFLAG         =-fPIC -DTHREADS -D_REENTRANT -DDSO_DLFCN -DHAVE_DLFCN_H
-DL_ENDIA
N -DTERMIO -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer -m486 -Wall -DSHA1_ASM -DMD5_ASM
-DRMD160_ASM
EX_LIBS       =-ldl

Non-engine: Built and passed speed test.
Engine: Built and passed speed test, test program is now running
successfully with OpenSSL 0.9.6a engine version, Apache 1.3.19, and
CryptoSwift card.

So, it looks as if it still works properly on that platform.
