Hmm, I tested with doc/crypto/des.pod with the pod2man.pl we had
before the small fix that supposedly fixed this (-r 1.1), and I can't
see anything wrong with the output.

If you could tell me what the difference is between a broken pod2man
and a working one, I might be able to make an appropriate test...
