I am using openssl-0.9.5 under Win2000. I can successfully create the
pkcs12 files that Outlook/W2k wants. It _appears_ to import the cert/keys
correctly, but when I try to decrypt a message Outlook tells me, "Your
Digital ID name can not be found by the underlying security system."
Can anyone tell me exactly what it is looking for and where it is looking?
As far as I can tell it should be stored in the correct place. When I set
the certificate in Outlook (Tools->Options, Security tab, Settings Button,
Choose... button) for both signing and encrypting, it lists the openssl
certificate that I imported. I also verified that the Digital ID listed as
Default in the contact for myself is the one that corresponds to the openssl
cert. I also made sure that the email address listed in the cert is correct
and that the services/purpose of the cert includes email usage.
I searched the archives, but did not see this problem mentioned. Any help
would be appreciated.
