Just a brief conclusion - I kept getting conflicting reports about the Raspi's ability to run MythTV with HDTV in a satisfactory manner. My own brief experience showed it was _slow_ just operating the MythTV menus, which I could tell was going to annoy me. Instead I switched to a Zotac mini PC I bought 3 years ago. Back then I gave up because I could not get hw accelerated video to work with Intel HD graphics.
