Not true.
"Starting with the packages in the factory tree from 2006-03-12, zmd and rug
can be used for package management."
Don't know what comes now (upgrading to factory again, this time via yast
instead of y2pmsh)
Beware if you have x86_64. y2pmsh does it well, but yast fails (see
subject) and causes a lot of hand-crafting fixing it (because program
calls will fail due to not having their libraries).
but this morning (12-03-06) it did not work yet. Rug just
hangs when you ping zen. Still broken, maybe ftp.gwdg.de was not synced
yet...but that looks like a kinda weird option to me.
ftp.gwdg.de is in sync.
Tomorrow we will know more......
You are wrong. Upgrading today to factory leaves the system as:
turion:1 01:56:53 ~ # cat /etc/SuSE-release
SUSE LINUX 10.0.42 (X86-64) Beta8
VERSION = 10.0.42
turion:1 01:57:05 ~ # uname -a
Linux turion 2.6.16-rc5-git9-2-default #1 Tue Mar 7 14:56:34 UTC 2006
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Cheers -e
