Hello all

I installed openSUSE-10.3-Beta2-KDE-i386.iso on my thinkpad this evening. My
thinkpad is a
T60   => Intel Core Duo T2400 / 1.83 GHz

Resume of my problems to date;
1- Network Configuration problems on install on T60 Thinkpad
2- SaX2 incorrectly configured Intel 945 GM video card

# 1 Network Configuration problems on install on T60 Thinkpad
###########################################################

Network Configuration Window (during install)

General Network Settings
Network Mode: Interfaces controlled by NetworkManager

Network Interfaces (Network Configuration Window)
* Wireless Network Card # (<= no Device name; Unable to configure network card
because
kernal device is not present) Not configured yet

* Unknown Network Device # (<= Device name is eth-eth0 ; Module name under
Configure/Hardware window is e1000) Configured with DHCP

* Unknown Network Device # (<= Device name is eth-eth0 ; no Module name
Configure/Hardware
window ) Configured with DHCP
*Loopback Device

Configured with address 127.0.0.1 (losthost)

Remark 1: Wireless card is an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG. I know that there is
a bug out on
this for Beta1 (don't recall the number though)

Remark 2: I noticed no changes in the Network Interfaces settings (Network
Configuration
Window) if I opted for Traditionnal network setup with NetControl.

Remark 3: Internet (eth0) worked up to (around) this point because I d/l and
installed
several extra rpms during the install and the eth0 worked on first boot.

Remark 4: Despite the fact that lsmod | grep ipw3945 lists the following (see
below) my
wireless card is not seen by yast

ipw3945
ieee80211
firmware_class

2- SaX2 configuration
###########################################################
SaX2 had configured the Intel 945 GM video card with a resolution of 1024x768
(XGA) with a
monitor LEN LENOVO LCD MONITOR but the resolution I getting (was I believe) was
more like
800 x 640 XGA.

When I ran SaX2 - it said 1024x768 (XGA) but when I tested it (no changes were
made) it
said 800 x 640 XGA.

Hope this helps

Regards
James
