Yes, as it's actually easier for us to test with the stable release than
with Tumbleweed. I actually don't know if new GNOME versions always end
up in Tumbleweed.

The GNOME team itself has no such plans. The artwork team in openSUSE
might have plans like this. If this happens, we'll make it easy to go
back to an upstream look and feel (it's only about changing a few
settings, after all).
