Why not creating a database, where everybody can save his contributions.
Then, a filter shows the, let us say, 40st biggest contributions (We
create a poll for members only, this is the best way) and they get a box
or a small present or a shirt or whatever.
So, you can give it to ambassadors and non-members too, and solve the
problem of searching people, who deserve it ;)
