I would like to see a 1 cd install/slick version for x86_64.   I'd be willing to compile packages and/or contribute to the build however I could.   I do have an x86_64 machine available.

Hi team

What next? Since I do have quite considerable consulting happening
(spreading Linux's wings) we need to discuss how the SUPER development
is going to proceed. Especially since we had some press on linux.com.
The article is ambiguous about my official role at Novell. Even though
my managers condone SUPER and SLICK and even see it as a good tool and
run it partly themselves, I am in no way officially working on this and
am actually a consultant working in the field. I need SLICK for my own
every day use as a desktop linux user and I need SLICK to give potential
and factual SUSE users a 1 CD installer with all they need to get
started. This is what I currently easily already get out of SLICK ....
As you can see it fulfills my needs, hence my little effort to do much
else. This is the nature of OSS. If you have a need, then you will
probably have to implement it yourself.

I have a few questions everyone on this list should quickly answer
please, if they want to help in shaping the openSUSE future in a
superlative future.

Do you want to work together in SUPER?

Why are you on this list?

Who on this list does what exactly to optimize SUSE? How can that be
integrated into SLICK?

What are your top 3 optimizations/experimental requests/wishes?

What are your expectations on a release cicle?

Do you want an account on the build server?

What question do you want to ask?

Personally I want to restrict my involvement in SUPER to the few
packages I do need and the mastering of the final iso with your work.
Please send me a reply either directly (anonymous) or to the list, if
you want to have a discussion about your answers.

Next I collate the answers into a WIKI entry and we post the findings
to the main list for feedback. Then this list decides on our development
goals and the time lines.

So please give me some feedback as I think we need a bit of more
structure ...

Go SUSE go!
