This Pre-Bug-Report is ment to be a general question to the audience to see if it can be duplicated as I am not sure what I did before in order to see this problem.
Description: Today I wanted to install PostgreSQL and opened YaST2 for it, but when I reached for the Software Management nothing happens. Debugging the problem: If you run YaST2, in both textmode and GUI-mode, in order to install or remove a package YaST2 checks several components in order to see if it is in a clean state in order to work properly. One of these tests is running the program vgdisplay. This is an extract from /var/log/YaST2/y2log 2005-10-27 09:28:55,364 INFO libstorage - SystemCmd.cc(execute):96 SystemCmd Executing:"vgdisplay -s" 2005-10-27 09:28:55,401 INFO libstorage - SystemCmd.cc(addLine):561 Adding Line 1 "/bin/sh: vgdisplay: command not found" 2005-10-27 09:28:55,401 INFO libstorage - SystemCmd.cc(getUntilEOF):527 pid:1937 added lines:1 stderr:1 2005-10-27 09:28:55,401 INFO libstorage - SystemCmd.cc(doExecute):241 system() Returns:127 2005-10-27 09:28:55,402 INFO libstorage - SystemCmd.cc(logOutput):572 stderr:/bin/sh: vgdisplay: command not found 2005-10-27 09:28:55,402 INFO libstorage - LvmVg.cc(getVgs):866 detected Vgs <> 2005-10-27 09:28:55,402 INFO libstorage - EvmsCo.cc(activate):966 old active:1 val:1 2005-10-27 09:28:55,402 INFO libstorage - EvmsCo.cc(sendCommand):984 cmd:list fd:11 Solution (for me): I installed the lvm2 package and the program vgdisplay was available again. Operating System: SUSE Linux 10.0 - Boxed Edition System is mainly maintained with apt, but I am totally sure that I never ever had installed lvm2 prior to this problem as I do not have any lvm-drives on my machine. bis dahin/kind regards Martin Mewes -- FAQ fuer [email protected] -> http://www.suse-faq.de.vu/ FAQ fuer [email protected] -> http://www.de.debian.org/debian-user-german-FAQ/ --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
