At the end of the day, if you are just thinking of KDE vs. GNOME, it's at 
most a change of defaults and a concentrated development focus. [Please 
take into account, that we are just talking about business products (SLES, 
NLD)!]

... just read my other post on this topic. That's pretty much it, what I 
can tell to the best of my knowledge, at this point in time.
